18. Read a few perspectives on Web 2.0, Library 2.0 and the future of libraries and blog your thoughts.
I ended up reading, "Away from the "icebergs"" which I found rather interesting. I read the comparisons between libraries and the new web 2.0. It had three key points which it stated, first was the "just in case" which is about libraries having information which may not be provided on the internet, and that libraries are there, just in case. I find this rather the opposite in real life, in most cases, I find it tedious and frustrating to find something in a library, and end up finding what I need online. Second is user education, and this is helping the users to educate themselves and upgrade their educational standards which are applied and make things easier to obtain, and I generally agree with this. Lastly the "come to us" which places the libraries resources available to the web, which in many schools and libraries around the country is already available. This article stresses points of the web which I believe are important, and I feel as though the library system will always be needed, and from my perspective it seems silly to think it will obsolete.
